What happens when the most human, spontaneous, and liberating sound of all—laughter—meets the millimetric rigor of electronic music production?

As of today, May 22, my brand-new single “ahahahahah” is officially out now on all major digital streaming platforms. This track represents one of the most audacious creative challenges I have taken on recently: extracting rhythm and melody directly from the phonemes of laughter to build a hypnotic, driving sonic architecture.

The Concept: Exploring the Fluidity Between Organic and Synthetic Sound

Laughter is a universal language. If you pay close attention, it possesses its own inherent meter and intrinsic melody. In this track, I wanted to deconstruct this natural human gesture, sampling and transforming it into the foundational building block of a beat that merges avant-garde sound design with a pure clubbing attitude.

In “ahahahahah”, the human voice is no longer just an expression of emotion; it becomes a magnetic loop that constantly dialogues with synthesizers and tight, driving rhythms. The result is a track designed to move bodies on the dance floor while also inviting listeners to reflect on the increasingly thin line between the biological (the organic) and the technological (the synthetic).

Electronic-Ambient Experimentation and International Scope

For those who have been following my musical journey as Matthew S, you know that my signature style has always aimed to balance the warmth of analog gear with the surgical precision of digital production. “Ahahahahah” pushes that philosophy to its absolute limit, operating right on the edge of the underground electronic scene and multimedia sound art.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of taking my music far beyond Italy through international festivals, art installations, and high-profile crossover collaborations—such as working with actor and musician Gary Dourdan (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), blending soul vibes with cutting-edge electronics. This new release continues that exploration, breaking traditional production molds.
