What happens when one of the most natural human sounds becomes the foundation of an electronic track?

That simple question inspired my latest single, “ahahahahah”, now available on all major streaming platforms.

Instead of using laughter as a background effect, I decided to make it the main instrument. Every rhythmic element started from human phonemes, which were sampled, reshaped, and transformed into the core of the composition. The result is a driving electronic track that blends playful experimentation with club energy.

The Idea Behind “ahahahahah”

Laughter is universal. It doesn’t need translation, and it naturally contains rhythm, accents, and melody.

While listening to different recordings, I realized that every laugh already carries its own musical character. Because of that, I decided to build an entire production around this simple human expression.

Rather than hiding the vocal samples behind heavy processing, I wanted them to remain recognizable. As a result, the voice constantly interacts with synthesizers, percussion, and electronic textures throughout the track.

At the same time, the production explores the relationship between organic and synthetic sound. Human emotion becomes part of a structured electronic environment, creating a contrast that continuously evolves from beginning to end.

Sound Design Meets Club Music

As many people already know, my work as Matthew S often combines analog instruments with modern digital production techniques.

With “ahahahahah”, I wanted to push that approach even further.

Every sound was carefully designed to preserve the spontaneous feeling of laughter while fitting naturally into a powerful electronic groove. Consequently, the track works both as a listening experience and as a club-oriented production.

Although the concept is experimental, the objective was simple: create something original without sacrificing energy or musicality.

A Continuing Creative Journey

Throughout the years, my music has taken me to international festivals, multimedia projects, and collaborations with artists from different creative backgrounds.

One of the most memorable experiences was working with actor and musician Gary Dourdan (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), combining electronic production with soul and cinematic influences.

In many ways, “ahahahahah” continues that same creative path. However, this time the focus shifts toward the expressive potential of the human voice itself.
