Night in Berlin: my new track born between the streets of Schöneberg and the movements of the OP–XY by Teenage Engineering
My new track is called Night in Berlin and it’s available from July 4th on all platforms. It’s a piece born during a silent night in Berlin, in the Schöneberg district, but it truly came to life thanks to an extraordinary creative companion: the OP–XY by Teenage Engineering.
Schöneberg is a place with a voice of its own. It’s elegant and melancholic, full of contrasts, stories, and details. I was there, in an apartment overlooking the city, with a piano and a feeling that’s hard to explain: Berlin doesn’t show itself, Berlin lets itself be sensed. So I started playing, letting the city whisper to me.
The first theme of Night in Berlin was born like that: fragile, intimate, almost suspended. But the real transformation happened in my studio in Vicenza, when I began working with the OP–XY, Teenage Engineering’s latest creation. For those who don’t know it, the OP–XY is much more than a simple instrument: it’s a spatial interface, an extension of the body, capable of translating movement into sound.
With its six-axis motion sensors, the OP–XY allowed me to shape every detail of the track in real time. Every rotation, tilt, or swipe shaped musical parameters in a natural, physical, expressive way. It’s as if music was no longer just a sequence of notes but a true performative gesture.

Working with the OP–XY changed my approach to electronic music production. I was able to give space to spontaneity, letting the track evolve like a conversation between me, the instrument, and the memory of the city. The sound moved between ambient and minimal, with a cinematic tension that reflects the slow rhythm of Berlin nights.
Night in Berlin is a track for those who love atmospheric electronic music, for those who get lost in the details, for those who listen to a city before they look at it. Every note is a mental photograph, every texture a reflection of Berlin in my mind.
The OP–XY is not just an instrument, it was my creative partner in this journey. A futuristic object that allowed me to tell the story of a city that breathes and changes, without ever raising its voice.
And with this track, I invite you to listen to it with me.
